Client: New Moon Studio Space Deliverables: Visual Identity
New Moon Studio Space offers private and shared spaces for working artists in Springfield, MO.
For many artists, their work cannot thrive without a dedicated space. The Springfield community was in need of rentable studio spaces for working artists.
In October 2022, New Moon founders Kate Baird and Mike Stevens closed on their building at 2574 E Bennett Street. The nearly century-old building was built as an elementary school and was last occupied by Springfield’s Junior League chapter.
The exterior of the building features a decorative datestone from its first use as a school. We used elements from the masonry and typography of this design as inspiration for New Moon Studio Space’s logotype and brandmark.
The color palette features a range of six hues, each able to be paired with one another for unique combinations.
New Moon Studio Space offers 12 private rooms and 16 studio pods in a common area. We helped create signage for marking these spaces.
The brandmark can be expanded to form a geometric pattern.
While its occupants are creative, the studios at New Moon are intended to be functional. Inspired by themes of divisible space and practical pencil-to-paper work, the brand uses a grid pattern for stationary and other brand assets.
